UN to mobilize over US$ 1 billion to finance NST-2 beneath new 5-year cooperation Framework – RNA NEWS
The United Nations(UN) has pledged efforts to mobilize US$ 1 billion to help the implementation of the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) by means of a brand new five-year United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
This announcement was made through the One UNSteering Committee assembly, which incorporates authorities officers, UN businesses, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society organizations, and representatives from the non-public sector. The assembly centered on reviewing the progress made by the UN system in delivering as one in Rwanda.
Yusuf Murangwa, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, acknowledged, “The UN system in Rwanda has aligned its cooperation with our medium and long-term strategies. The One UN Committee provides an opportunity to assess our progress and discuss the way forward, specifically how the UN will continue to align its interventions with our National Strategy for Transformation Two (NST2). This is about delivering as one—not just the UN system, but all of us working together.”
Ozonnia Ojielo, the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Rwanda, added, “Our new UNSDCF aligns with Rwanda’s Vision 2050, NST2, and global commitments such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union Agenda 2063. It prioritizes economic and social transformation, as well as transformational governance, to foster inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development. Key focus areas include innovative financing, climate-smart growth, human capital development, and strengthened governance systems to promote peace and accountability.”
The Joint One UN Committee goals to supply strategic course and oversight for the UNSDCF, making certain its alignment with nationwide, regional, and worldwide improvement processes, equivalent to Vision 2050, the National Strategy for Transformation, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
