South Sudan urged urgently intervene to quell rising violence in Tambura – Sudans Publish
JUBA-The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Thursday referred to as authorities of nationwide unity to urgently intervene to quell rising pressure in Tambura County of Western Equatoria State.

“In this regard, we welcome the deployment of additional government security forces to Tambura. We also call for sustained interventions by the Government to restore calm, including conducting investigations to identify perpetrators and bring them to justice, as well as creating conditions for communities to reconcile,” he said.
He mentioned safety scenario in Tambura stays fragile since intercommunal clashes first erupted in 2021.
According to him, the scenario is worsening regardless of ongoing efforts by UNMISS in addition to state and nationwide authorities to resolve group variations by way of peace dialogues.
