South Sudan, companions launch GBV behavioral change program – Sudans Post
JUBA-South Sudan’s Central Equatoria State Ministry of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare, in partnership with UNDP and Hope Africa South Sudan, on Thursday launched a gender-based violence behavioral change program.
The three-month program funded by UNDP and applied by HASS targets 680 people from Eastern and Central Equatoria states.
The challenge aimed toward integrating approaches that weave moral, and efficient actions to handle GBV.
Speaking throughout the launch of this system in Juba, Mariam Aguli Zachriah, advisor to the Central Equatoria State governor on gender affairs, reiterated the federal government’s dedication to combating gender-based violence.
“Therefore, as the government of central Equatoria, I think this project of inception is very important,” Aguli mentioned.
Aguli thanked the companions for selecting Central Equatoria state as one of many beneficiaries of this system.
“I hope it does not end here in launching it; let it go down to our counties also,” she famous.
For her half, Margaret Mathiang, UNDP Gender Analyst, mentioned the challenge would empowered youth with monetary assist and expertise on enterprise growth.

Meanwhile, Mr. Aduol Aduol Yel, Executive Director, Hope Africa South Sudan, mentioned the challenge will assist cut back the instances of GBV within the native communities within the state.
