President Kiir receives last report of Judiciary Committee – Sudans Submit
JUBA- South Sudan’s Judicial Reform Committee (JRC) on Friday offered its last and detailed report back to President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The report was offered to President throughout a high-level assembly held in Juba on Friday.
It goals to strengthen judiciary reforms and enhance entry to justice for the residents.
Speaking to the Presidential Press Unit, Justice James Ogola, Chairperson of the Judicial Reform Committee, stated the nation’s wealthy cultural heritage performed a vital function in shaping the mandatory judicial reforms within the nation.
Retired former principal decide of Uganda High Court stated the “committee has focused on critical areas such as increasing the number of judges, improving infrastructure and courtrooms, and expanding legal resources, including libraries and new technology, to ensure the judicial service is more accessible to all citizens.”
For his half, Justice Reuben Madol Arol, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, stated the report offers a transparent blueprint for reforming, and restructuring the nation’s judiciary.
Madaol famous that “this blueprint offers a practical and actionable framework that reflects the voices of the South Sudanese people.”
Established on July 28, 2022, JRC was tasked with reviewing the judiciary and offering suggestions to the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (RTGoNU), as outlined in Article 1.17 of the Peace Agreement.
Envisioned by the 2018 peace settlement, the JRC is remitted to research and report its findings on the judicial system to the unity authorities.
