Oyet praises residents for observing regulation and order throughout festive season – Sudans Post
JUBA – South Sudan’s First Deputy Speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA), Nathaniel Oyet Pierino, has recommended residents for sustaining peace and order through the Christmas and New Year celebrations, noting the absence of insecurity stories nationwide.
In a press release posted on his official Facebook web page on Friday, Oyet praised the residents for being law-abiding and for celebrating the festive season in a peaceable and cheerful method.
“This year’s celebrations were notably different. I commend the citizens of South Sudan for their exemplary conduct and for being great law-abiding subjects,” Oyet stated.
He expressed gratitude to the safety forces for his or her function in guaranteeing peace and stability throughout the nation through the festive interval.
“We did not hear tuek tuek. I am grateful for the law-abiding citizens and the role played by all the security forces throughout the country. There was no politically motivated violence whatsoever,” Oyet said.
Oyet shared his happiness at witnessing residents touring safely throughout the nation, even at evening, mentioning cities corresponding to Magwi, Torit, Bor, Rumbek, and Wau.
“It’s heartwarming to see vehicles leaving these towns in the evening and traveling throughout the night to their respective destinations,” he stated.
The deputy speaker emphasised that South Sudan should exchange warfare with a “peace dividend” and prioritize justice, equality, human rights, democracy, rule of regulation, good governance, prosperity, and growth.
“The year 2025 looks peaceful and promising. We should strive to be productive and innovative,” he added.
