Coffee is certainly one of Rwanda’s main agricultural exports and an important driver of the nationwide economic system. In 4 years, the initiative which targets the districts of Karongi, Nyamasheke, Rusizi in Western Province and Nyamagabe, Huye, and Ruhango in Southern Province goals to switch a complete of three,050 hectares of espresso farms which can be over 30 years previous.

With the objective of changing 543 hectares of previous espresso bushes throughout six districts within the first 12 months, NAEB has efficiently produced 1,559,724 high-yielding espresso seedlings that will probably be prepared for planting in November 2024. This mass seedling manufacturing is essential to making sure the sustainability of the espresso trade, as it would rejuvenate growing older plantations and promote larger yields.

Alongside substitute efforts, NAEB can be main a rehabilitation program targeted on 1,082 hectares of espresso farms which can be greater than seven years previous. This espresso revitalisation program is designed to boost the vigor of current bushes, resulting in improved productiveness and better-quality espresso.
