JUBA-South Sudan’s Governor of Central Equatoria State, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo, on Tuesday urged youth within the state to desist from getting used as brokers of political violence by politicians.

Addressing journalists at a press convention in Juba, Governor Jadalla cautioned younger folks in opposition to getting used like what he referred to as ‘firewood’ by politicians for political violence.

“I urge the youth to change their mindset not to be used like firewood by politicians to fight themselves and destroy their villages,” Jadalla mentioned in his New Year message.

He urged the younger folks to embrace sports activities, and different actions to foster peaceable coexistence amongst themselves.

“Instead, the youth should unite themselves to focus on positive activities, for instance, education, sports, and the arts, to prepare to choose their leaders with charity of mind during the upcoming general elections in December 2026,” he mentioned.

He underscored the significance of consolidating peace as a way to finish bloodshed within the nation.

“We need to consolidate all our efforts to denounce and bring to an end bloodshed, fight against hunger, and fight against climate change threats that increase the risks for natural disasters like floods that we gravely suffered from and destructions of our physical infrastructure and environment.”

He reaffirmed his authorities’s dedication to enhance service supply.

“We therefore need to strengthen our healthcare services, education systems, waste management processes, road rehabilitations, water deliveries, and spontaneous refugee returns.”

He revealed that they’ll revive cooperative societies to deal with poverty amongst girls and younger folks within the state.

”As state authorities, we now have plans to revive cooperative societies and likewise facilitate personal sector participation in social, financial, and improvement,” he mentioned.

“I therefore urge youth and women, because they constitute the majority of our country, to play a great role in entrepreneurship to improve the livelihood of both rural and urban populations.”
