Duk County youth recuperate 42 cattle raided by suspected Murle youth – Sudans Post

JUBA-Local authorities of Duk County of South Sudan’s Jonglei State mentioned on Tuesday that the youth have recovered the greater than 42 cows raided on Sunday by suspected Murle youth from Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

John Chatim, Commissioner of Duk County, instructed Sudans Post on Tuesday that the cattle had been recovered on Tuesday after native youth pursued and attacked the raiders.

“The youth followed footprint of the armed criminal’s raided cattle and recovered the cattle from the raider and the government urged youth to be productive such as carrying out the trade and how we identify the criminal were track and they were to the direction of Pibor and their language,” mentioned Chatim.

On fifteenth December 2024, suspected Murle youth from neighboring Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) attacked cattle camp in Duk County, leaving one individual injured and 42 cattle raided.

Chatim mentioned the wounded individual is present process therapy underneath the care of South Sudan Red Cross, including that plans are underway to move to Juba for additional medical consideration.
